Electric Picnic is Ireland's leading independent music and arts festival. It runs the last weekend of August/first of September on the Stradbally Hall estate. Music, comedy, theatre, art installations, camping, food vendors. It brings 50,000 people to a small Laois village for three days. Tickets sell out months ahead. The town transforms completely.

Stradbally Steam Rally
The Stradbally Steam Rally runs on the August bank holiday weekend on the same estate. Hundreds of vintage steam engines, tractors, and farm machinery. It attracts enthusiasts from across Ireland and the UK. It is smaller than the festival but significant.

Outside those two weekends, Stradbally is a quiet market town of 800 people. The estate is private or hosts small events. The town works at its own pace.
