About

Ireland, village by village.

IrelandMe is an independent guide to Ireland. The idea is simple: a proper page for every village, town and county on the island, not just the handful of places that already fill the guidebooks. From Malin Head to Mizen, if it has a name, we want it to have a page worth reading.

What you'll find here

How the pages are made

Each place is researched individually rather than spun from a template. We pull together local history, geography and the things a person who lives there would actually mention, then write it up so it reads like a guide and not a database entry. Some places are short because they are small; we would rather a page be honest and brief than padded out.

Events and tour listings are gathered county by county and checked against their sources. Expired one-off events are removed so you are not reading about something that finished last month.

Who runs it

IrelandMe is built and maintained independently from Drogheda, Co. Louth. It is not a tourism board or a government site, and it is free to read. We are not trying to sell you a holiday - just to be the most useful first stop when you want to know about a place in Ireland.

How we keep the lights on

Some tour, ticket and accommodation links go through partners such as Viator, GetYourGuide and Ticketmaster. If you book through one of them we may earn a small commission, at no extra cost to you. It never changes what we recommend or how a place is written up. You can read more in our privacy policy.
