Belfast to or from Dublin Private Transfer

About This Tour

Dublin and Belfast are two very different cities with a lot of history between them, and the road that connects them - mostly the M1 motorway - is one of Ireland’s most-travelled routes. This private transfer covers it door-to-door, in your own air-conditioned vehicle with WiFi, in typically two to three hours.

It runs in either direction - Dublin to Belfast or Belfast to Dublin - so it works whether you’re starting your trip in the south and heading north, or finishing up and heading back. Because it’s a private service, the vehicle is yours alone: no waiting for other passengers, no fixed departure times to work around, and no one else’s schedule to accommodate. Your driver knows the route well and handles everything on the day.

Local Tips

The border crossing is seamless. Dublin is in the Republic of Ireland and Belfast is in Northern Ireland, which means you cross an international border on this journey - but you won’t really notice. There are no passport checks and no stopping. The main practical difference is that Northern Ireland uses sterling rather than euros, so it’s worth having some pounds on you if you’re heading into Belfast for a few days.

Two to three hours is the honest estimate. On a good run with clear motorway traffic you can do Dublin city centre to Belfast city centre in under two hours. Rush hour on a Friday afternoon heading north, or a Sunday evening heading south, can add time. Your driver will know what to expect and can adjust the pick-up time accordingly.

Belfast has changed enormously. If your mental image of the city is shaped by news coverage from the 1980s or 1990s, you’re in for a surprise. The waterfront Titanic Quarter alone is worth a half-day, and the city’s food and drink scene is genuinely excellent. The Cathedral Quarter around Hill Street and Commercial Court is a good place to start if you want to get your bearings.

Dublin traffic is worst in the early morning and evening. If you’re heading to Dublin Airport after a Belfast stay, factor in city-centre traffic if your pick-up is before 9am or between 4pm and 7pm. Your driver can advise on the best timing when you book.
