Private Transfer from Dalkey to Belfast City Airport (BHD)

About This Tour

Dalkey is one of Dublin’s most charming coastal villages - granite castle ruins, a little harbour, great pubs, and views across to Dalkey Island. When it’s time to leave and you’ve got a flight from Belfast City Airport (BHD) to catch, sorting the journey in advance takes all the uncertainty out of the day.

Pre-book this transfer and a premium car or minivan will be waiting at your hotel or address in Dalkey when you need it. Your driver meets you at the door, helps with luggage, and runs you north to Belfast on a direct, comfortable drive of around 2 hours 30 minutes. The vehicle is yours for the journey - no other passengers, no stops - and your group can be up to 6 people. All taxes, VAT, airport tolls, and tips are included in the price you see upfront.

What’s Included

  • All taxes and VAT
  • Meet and greet service - your driver meets you at the hotel reception or private address
  • Any parking and/or airport tolls
  • Private one-way transfer
  • Tips and gratuities

What’s Not Included

  • Excess luggage charges: each passenger is allowed one standard suitcase (46x69x29cm / 18x27x11in). Oversized or extra bags will incur an additional fee.

Good to Know

Your driver meets you at the hotel reception or at the private address provided when booking. If you need infant or child seats, select the number of young passengers at booking so the right seats are ready. Infants and small children can also travel in a pram or stroller. If you can’t locate your driver on arrival, contact the assistance centre - the driver will wait up to 60 minutes after the effective landing time. Price is per person.

This is a private tour.

Local Tips

Dalkey sits on the DART line, about 30 minutes south of Dublin city centre. If you’ve been staying there you’ll know it already, but it’s worth mentioning for anyone who hasn’t: the village has a lovely unhurried feel that makes it a particularly good base for a few nights. The transfer north picks you up right from where you are, so you don’t need to head back into the city first.

Belfast City Airport (BHD) is much closer to the city centre than Belfast International, which is the other airport serving Belfast. BHD is right on the edge of the city, so if you’re flying home from there, arriving with any extra time isn’t a hardship - there’s very little faff between the drop-off point and the departure gate.

The drive from Dalkey to Belfast takes roughly 2 hours 30 minutes under normal conditions, passing through the M1 motorway corridor north of Dublin. Traffic around the Dublin port tunnel area can add time during peak hours, so it’s worth building in a sensible buffer if your flight is early afternoon.

Luggage allowance is one standard suitcase per person (46x69x29cm). If you’re travelling with golf bags, pushchairs, or oversized cases, let the operator know when you book so the right vehicle size can be confirmed. Prams and strollers can travel in the vehicle.

If you haven’t already explored Dalkey properly, the castle dates back to the 14th century and the short ferry to Dalkey Island - which has its own little Martello tower - leaves from the harbour and takes about five minutes. Worth knowing for your next visit.
