If you’re flying out of Belfast Airport (BFS) but spending your trip based in Dublin, this private transfer connects the two without any of the usual logistics headaches. Your driver meets you at your hotel reception or private address in Dublin central, and takes you directly to BFS - no taxi queuing, no coach pickups from random corners, no worrying about whether you’ll make it in time.
The journey takes around 2 hours 20 minutes, with room for up to 6 passengers. All taxes, VAT, parking charges, airport tolls, and gratuities are included in the price. If your flight is delayed, the driver will wait up to 60 minutes beyond your effective landing time.
Infant seats and child seats are available - please select the number of infants and children travelling when booking so the appropriate seats can be arranged. Infants up to 2 years old and children up to 6 years old must travel in a suitable seat. Infants and small children can also ride in a pram or stroller.
Suitable for all fitness levels. The driver will wait up to 60 minutes after your effective landing time if needed.
This is a private tour.
Belfast Airport (BFS) - also called Belfast International - is located at Aldergrove, about 30 kilometres northwest of Belfast city centre. It’s a larger airport than Belfast City (BHD) and handles a wider range of routes, including transatlantic, European, and UK flights. It’s worth double-checking which Belfast airport your flight departs from, as the two are quite different in size and location.
The M1 motorway from Dublin to Belfast is a straightforward drive, passing through Drogheda, Dundalk, and Newry before crossing into Northern Ireland. Once you cross the border you’re on the A1 towards Belfast, and the turn-off for BFS is well signposted west of the city. The full journey from central Dublin should take around 2 hours 20 minutes in clear traffic.
Friday afternoon and Sunday evening are the busiest times on this route, with significant tailbacks on the M1 south of Drogheda and around Newry on the Northern Ireland side. If you can depart Dublin before noon on a Friday, the drive is considerably more predictable. Build in a cushion of 30-45 minutes on top of the estimated journey time if you’re travelling at peak times.
Belfast Airport has a decent range of shops and restaurants airside, but check-in queues at BFS can move slowly on busy mornings. Most airlines flying from Belfast International recommend arriving at least 2 hours before departure for short-haul flights, and earlier for long-haul routes.
