The drive from Dublin to Ballyvaughan takes around 3 to 4 hours depending on traffic and your route. Your chauffeur knows the roads well, and the last stretch through the Burren on the approach to Ballyvaughan is genuinely scenic. It’s worth staying awake for that part.
Gregans Castle has one of the more celebrated dining rooms in Clare, so if you’re planning dinner on the night you arrive, it’s worth booking your table in advance.
