About This Tour

Dublin is one of those cities that genuinely rewards time. It’s medieval at its core, with Viking roots that show up in the street names and old stone laneways, but it’s also electric, creative, and full of surprises. Four days gives you the space to actually experience the place rather than rush through it.

You’ll spend time in the city itself - past Georgian architecture that’s among the best-preserved in the world, through Phoenix Park (big enough for a full day on its own: the President’s residence, Dublin Zoo, an abandoned military fort, and a resident herd of deer), and into the Long Room at Trinity College Library, a breathtaking hall lined with thousands of rare and antique books. There are beautiful seaside towns just outside the city too, with walking routes ranging from gentle strolls to something more challenging.

Beyond Dublin, the package includes a small group excursion to Kilkenny and Wicklow, and a trip to the Cliffs of Moher - one of Ireland’s most iconic natural landmarks. Your guide throughout is professional and knows the history and stories behind what you’re seeing.

The package includes 3 nights in a centrally located 3 or 4-star hotel in a standard room, plus a private transfer from Dublin Airport or the train station. When booking, you’ll need to specify your preferred bedding type - double bed or two separate beds.

Local Tips

Use Dublin’s city centre as a base for exploring on foot. The hotel’s central location means most of the city’s best spots - Trinity College, Temple Bar, the Liffey quays, St. Stephen’s Green - are walkable from wherever you’re staying. Dublin is a compact city and a lot of what makes it worthwhile is best discovered by wandering without a fixed plan.

Phoenix Park deserves more than a quick drive-through. It’s the largest enclosed park of any capital city in Europe and most visitors only scratch the surface. If you have a free morning, take a walk toward the deer enclosure, find the hollow of the old ruined fort at Knockmaroon, or simply sit near the Magazine Fort and let the scale of the place settle in. The park has been there since 1662 and it shows, in the best way.

The Kilkenny and Wicklow day covers a lot of ground, so pace yourself. Kilkenny is one of Ireland’s best-preserved medieval cities - the castle, the cathedral, and the narrow lanes of the town centre are all worth your time. Wicklow’s landscape, particularly around the Vale of Avoca and the Wicklow Mountains, is striking in a completely different way. Don’t try to do everything; let your guide steer you toward what’s best on the day.

The Cliffs of Moher are on the west coast, so factor in the travel time. It’s a long day from Dublin, but it’s worth it. The cliffs stretch for 14 kilometres and reach 214 metres at their highest point. Go early in the morning if you can, before the crowds build and when the Atlantic light is at its best. Bring a windproof layer regardless of what the forecast says.

The €3-4 city tax per night is paid directly to the hotel at check-in. It’s a small amount but worth knowing about so you’re not caught off guard on arrival. Most Dublin hotels collect it in cash or card at the front desk.
