Dublin: Personal Photographer - Travel Photography Experience

About This Tour

Put the selfie stick away. This two-hour private experience pairs you with a professional photographer who knows exactly where the light falls best in Dublin and how to catch you looking like yourself rather than posing for a camera.

Starting at O’Connell Bridge, your photographer-guide leads you through the city’s most visually striking spots - Georgian doorways, the sweep of the Ha’penny Bridge, the colourful shopfronts of Temple Bar, quiet courtyards that most visitors walk straight past. Along the way you hear stories about the landmarks and neighbourhoods, so it’s a genuine city tour as much as a photography session.

The photographer works with natural light and real moments - laughing, walking, leaning against old stone walls - rather than anything stiff or posed. The result is a set of images that actually look like your trip to Dublin. Whether you’re a couple on a city break, a family on holiday, or a solo traveller who wants something better than a phone photo propped against a railing, the session is built around you. All edited images are delivered digitally after the tour, ready for social media or print.

Local Tips

Morning light is the best light in Dublin, and early sessions before 10am give you the city’s most photogenic streets without the crowds. The Ha’penny Bridge in particular looks completely different when there’s nobody crossing it. If you have flexibility with your start time, mention it when you book and ask your photographer what they’d recommend for the time of year.

Wear something you’re comfortable in, not something you think looks good in photos. The difference shows, and a photographer who’s working with natural, candid shots will tell you the same. Layers are a good idea in Dublin regardless of the season - the weather changes quickly and you’ll be outside for two hours.

Temple Bar looks different to everyone depending on when they see it. Your photographer will know which alleys and courtyards catch the light well and which to avoid at which times of day. The instagrammable corner of Meeting House Square is lovely in the right conditions and just a carpark at other times. Leave that call to the photographer.

The Ha’penny Bridge is one of Dublin’s most recognised landmarks and it’s cast iron dates from 1816. Your photographer will almost certainly bring you here, and the reflections in the Liffey on a clear morning are worth the walk over. The bridge gets its name from the halfpenny toll that was charged to cross it - a charge that continued until 1919.

After the session, give the photographer a day or two for editing before expecting delivery. The images are edited properly, not just batch-processed, and the wait is worth it. Many photographers delivering this kind of experience will send a gallery link via email, so check your spam folder if you don’t hear within the agreed timeframe.
