Dublin Photo Magic: Personalized & LGBTQ+ Friendly

About This Tour

This isn’t a standard photoshoot where you stand in front of a famous landmark and smile. It’s a one-hour collaboration built around you - your style, your interests, and the Dublin you actually want to remember.

Before the session, you’ll have a pre-shoot consultation to talk through what you’re looking for and where in the city suits you best. Your photographer knows Dublin well enough to take you beyond the obvious tourist spots to locations with real character - places with interesting light, texture, and atmosphere that make for images you’ll genuinely want to display.

Being in front of a camera can feel awkward, and your photographer knows that. The approach is relaxed direction and a comfortable atmosphere rather than forced poses - the goal is to capture something that looks and feels like you. You’ll also have the chance for one outfit change during the session if you want to vary the look.

The full gallery of 30 or more professionally edited, high-resolution images lands in a secure online gallery within 3 to 4 days. LGBTQ+ friendly and welcoming to everyone.

Itinerary

Locations are chosen in consultation with you, but typically include:

  1. Dublin Castle - Built on the site of a Viking settlement and completed in the early 13th century, it served as the headquarters of British administration in Ireland for centuries. Handed over to the Irish government following independence in 1922, it’s now a major government complex and a visually striking backdrop.

  2. City Hall - Built between 1769 and 1779, designed by Thomas Cooley after winning a competition that drew 62 submissions, including one from James Gandon who later built the Four Courts.

  3. Temple Bar area - The heart of Dublin’s nightlife district, full of colour, texture and life.

  4. Ha’penny Bridge - The city’s most iconic footbridge, built after ferry operator William Walsh was given the choice to repair his seven Liffey ferries or build a bridge instead. He chose the bridge, and pedestrians paid a halfpenny toll to cross it until 1919.

Local Tips

Use the pre-shoot consultation properly. Tell your photographer what you’re hoping for - whether that’s something relaxed and candid, more polished and editorial, or a mix of both. If there’s a particular side of Dublin you’re drawn to, mention it. The city has very different visual personalities: the Georgian grandeur of Merrion Square, the gritty colour of the Liberties, the river light around the Ha’penny Bridge at golden hour. Your photographer knows how to work each one.

Golden hour in Dublin is genuinely worth planning around. The low angle of Irish light in the early morning or in the hour before sunset does extraordinary things to the city’s brick and limestone. If your schedule allows it, talk to your photographer about timing the session to catch it - Ha’penny Bridge and City Hall in particular look completely different in warm evening light than they do midday.

One outfit change is included, and it’s worth thinking about in advance rather than on the day. A contrast between a relaxed look and something smarter, or between a bold colour and neutral tones, gives you variety in the final gallery. Pack what you’re planning to wear and have it ready rather than rummaging through a bag between locations.

LGBTQ+ friendly isn’t a footnote here, it’s the point. The photographer creates a space where you and whoever you’re with can be completely at ease and yourselves. If there are specific ways you’d like to be photographed or represented, the consultation is the right time to say so.

The secure online gallery arrives within 3 to 4 days, which makes it a great option even at the end of a trip. You won’t be waiting weeks for your images, and the download process is straightforward. If you’re tight on data, you can download everything when you’re back on a good connection at home.
