Your Dublin photographer isn’t just someone who points a camera at you - they’re a local who knows which laneways catch the best morning light, which bridges look incredible in the golden hour, and where to find backdrops that don’t end up in every tourist album. You choose the location, or let them suggest one that’ll actually work for you.
Whether you’re here as a couple on honeymoon, a group celebrating a hen or stag, a family who wants something better than selfies, or a solo traveller putting together a portfolio, the photographer tailors the session entirely around you. Secret proposals and engagements are very much welcome too.
Sessions run from one hour to four, and you decide how long you need. Every photo gets edited, and the full set arrives in a private online viewing gallery within 14 days of your shoot - ready to download at your leisure.
Think about timing before you book. Dublin’s light can be stunning but it’s rarely predictable. The hour before sunset - what photographers call golden hour - turns even ordinary streets into something atmospheric. If you can be flexible, ask your photographer what time of day they’d recommend for the location you have in mind. It makes a real difference to how the final images look.
Don’t overthook the city’s lesser-known spots. The Molly Malone statue and Ha’penny Bridge are fine, but a local photographer will know about quieter places - the Georgian doorways along Fitzwilliam Square, the cobbled stretch of Cow’s Lane in the Liberties, or the old docklands along the south quays - that give you something a little more distinctive to bring home.
Bring a change of outfit if you have one. Even for a one-hour session, having a second look to switch into mid-shoot gives you more variety in the final gallery. Your photographer will be able to scout a second backdrop quickly if you let them know in advance.
For proposals, get in touch early. If you’re planning something special, the photographer can help you plan a route that builds up to the moment naturally - whether that’s at a scenic harbour view, a quiet garden, or somewhere with personal meaning to you and your partner.
After the shoot, explore the area. Many of the photogenic corners of Dublin are right beside good places to eat and drink. If your session finishes around Merrion Square or the south quays, you’re minutes from some of the city’s best coffee and a proper sit-down lunch.
