Aisling Bea: Older Than Jesus at Vicar Street

At Vicar Street · 58-59 Thomas Street, Dublin 8

Aisling Bea performing Older Than Jesus at Vicar Street Dublin

What to Expect

BAFTA and British Comedy Award-winning comedian Aisling Bea brings her acclaimed show Older Than Jesus to Vicar Street for an encore performance on Sunday 3 May 2026, added due to overwhelming demand after the original run sold out. Born in Kildare and deeply rooted in her Irish Catholic upbringing, Bea takes an honest, funny and surprisingly tender look at growing up, faith and new motherhood in her latest hour.

The show explores what it means to be older than Jesus Christ was when he died, weaving together material about growing up as an altar boy in 1980s and 1990s Ireland, the experience of becoming a mother at 40, and the various ways in which she has outrun, defied and reimagined the expectations placed on her. The Irish Times described her as radiating charm and joy in an upbeat show full of clever one-liners, offbeat physical gags and delicious full-circle stories.

An extra night added by popular demand is always a sign that a show is genuinely special. Do not miss this one.
