At Aviva Stadium · Lansdowne Road, Ballsbridge, Dublin 4
Aviva Stadium offers guided behind-the-scenes tours throughout the year, giving visitors access to parts of the ground not normally accessible to the public: the home dressing room used by the Ireland rugby and football squads, the players’ tunnel through which teams walk out to the pitch on international days, pitchside photography opportunities, and the press room where post-match interviews are conducted.
The tour also takes visitors to the 5th floor of the stadium for some of the finest panoramic views of south Dublin, looking across Ballsbridge towards the Dublin Mountains. Hearing about the history of Lansdowne Road, which has hosted Irish international sport since 1878 and was comprehensively rebuilt as the current Aviva Stadium in 2010, adds context to what is a genuinely impressive building.
Aviva Stadium is the home of Irish rugby and football, hosting Ireland’s home internationals in both Six Nations rugby and European Championship qualification. The stadium has a capacity of over 51,000 and has also hosted major concerts, European finals, and some of the most celebrated nights in Irish sport. For rugby and football fans, standing pitchside and walking the same tunnel as Ireland’s national squads is a memorable experience.
Tours depart on the hour from 10am and run on all seven days of the week throughout the year.
