At Carrigart Hotel · Carrigart, Co. Donegal
Carrigart Fest is a three-day summer music weekend that takes over the Carrigart Hotel each July, and the 2026 edition is its third year running. Organised by Mickey Stephen’s Bar and the hotel itself in association with TC Promotions, it brings a proper festival atmosphere to a small Donegal village without the scale - or the chaos - of a big city event. The covered marquee keeps things going rain or shine, the crowd is local and loyal, and the line-up mixes big-name touring acts with DJ sets that lean hard into classic bangers. If you want a festival that feels human rather than corporate, this is a reasonable place to spend a weekend.
The weekend runs across three nights, each with a different flavour. Friday opens with the Battle of the DJs - Fergal Darcy going head-to-head with Keith Fletcher in a night billed around old-school vibes and classic bangers, with a late bar running through. Saturday belongs to Bingo Loco, the touring interactive show that combines bingo with dance-offs, lip-sync battles, confetti, throwback anthems, and prizes - it sells out regularly on its own touring circuit so this is a genuine draw. Sunday closes with Rhythm and Sticks, a live music act rounding off the weekend. All three nights take place in the covered festival marquee beside the hotel, with local food and festival drinks available throughout. More acts may be added - the hotel posts updates as announcements come.
Accommodation packages are available directly through the hotel (call +353 74 915 5114), and the advice is to book early. The festival runs 18+.
Carrigart sits on the Rosguill Peninsula in north Donegal, roughly 25km north of Letterkenny via the N56 and R245. From Dublin the drive is around three hours; from Derry just under two. There is no useful public transport to Carrigart itself, so a car is the practical option - or booking a room at the hotel and not worrying about the road home. Parking in the village is informal but the area is quiet enough at this time of year that it generally works out. If you are driving in from distance, the N56 from Letterkenny through Milford is the main approach.
The festival is a reason to arrive early and leave late. The Rosguill Peninsula has some of the best coastal scenery in Donegal - Tra na Rosann beach is minutes from the village, and the Atlantic Drive loop gives a full circuit of the headland worth doing in daylight. There is more to see in Carrigart and across Co. Donegal.
