Docs Ireland is Belfast’s dedicated documentary film festival, running annually in June as the sister festival of the Belfast Film Festival. The 2026 edition runs 16-21 June and features over 100 features, shorts and events over six days, including world and Irish premieres, guest filmmakers and industry talks. The festival opens with Steal This Story, Please!, a portrait of journalist Amy Goodman, and closes with Magilligan, directed by Ross McClean, an intimate portrait of a young man navigating life after prison. Films span themes of music, climate, conflict, identity and culture.
Dates: 16-21 June 2026, multiple screenings daily across all six days.
Venues include Queen’s Film Theatre (QFT), Odeon Victoria Square and The MAC, all in Belfast city centre.

QFT is at 20 University Square, a short walk from Belfast city centre and Queen’s University. Odeon Victoria Square is in the Victoria Square shopping centre. The MAC is in the Cathedral Quarter on Exchange Street West.
