Dove Ellis - The Workman's Club Dublin

At The Workman's Club · 10 Wellington Quay, Dublin 2

Dove Ellis performing acoustic folk music on stage

What to Expect

Dove Ellis, the stage name of Irish singer-songwriter Thomas O’Donoghue (born 2003), plays The Workman’s Club on Monday 18 May 2026 in a show presented by Aiken Promotions. Ellis released his debut album Blizzard in December 2025 to widespread critical acclaim, with The Economist including it in their top ten albums of the year and Paste Magazine naming him a significant new voice in indie folk.

His music sits between folk rock and singer-songwriter intimacy, with a range that spans soft acoustic ballads, chamber pop atmospherics and more visceral ambient passages. Described as a gothic patchwork of sounds rooted in folk tradition but reaching towards something more atmospheric and emotionally complex, Blizzard established Ellis as one of the most arresting new voices in Irish music.

The Workman’s Club is an ideal venue for this kind of intimate performance, with its Georgian building on Wellington Quay overlooking the Liffey providing a characterful setting for music that demands close attention. The club’s ground floor room offers good sightlines and a warm acoustic that suits Ellis’s sound particularly well.
