What to Expect

Cnoc na dTobar, meaning Mountain of the Wells, has been a sacred site since prehistoric and medieval times. In 1885, Parish Priest Canon Brosnan constructed fourteen stations of the cross along the ancient mountain trail. The pilgrimage involves walking the stations while praying, ascending to the 690-metre summit. The site features holy wells with water traditionally regarded as having special spiritual properties.
