Quadrophenia (1979, cert 15, 120 mins) is based on The Who’s rock opera of the same name and is one of British cinema’s defining portraits of youth subculture - specifically the defiant, drug-fuelled Mod scene of early 1960s London. Directed by Franc Roddam and featuring a performance from Sting, it follows a young Mod (Phil Daniels) as he navigates identity, rebellion and disappointment. The screening is part of the UK-wide BFI FAN season Rip It Up, which runs May-October 2026 exploring youth rebellion on screen.
