DM Executive Line covers the Dublin Airport to Galway route as a private, door-to-door chauffeur transfer. The journey takes around 2 hours 20 minutes and you’ll travel in a Mercedes-Benz with a certified, highly trained driver. No hidden costs - the price you book is the price you pay.
Your chauffeur will meet you at your hotel reception. For airport pickups, 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time is built in, so a delayed flight won’t catch anyone out.
Galway is a medieval city that still has the layout to prove it - the streets around Shop Street and Quay Street are too narrow for most vehicles, so give your driver your exact accommodation address and let them work out the approach. Many hotels are a short walk from where the car can legally drop you.
The city’s trad sessions run most nights but don’t start properly until ten. If you’re arriving in the afternoon, you have time for the Galway City Loop walk - Eyre Square to Quay Street to the Long Walk along the harbour, then back through the laneways - about 4 km and 90 minutes, and it’s the best introduction to the city there is.
Tigh Coili on Mainguard Street runs a nightly trad session in the Irish language tradition. It’s one of the best sessions in the city, and the standard is high - get there by 9:30pm if you want a seat near the players, not the door.
The city fills completely in late July for Galway Arts Festival and Galway Races. If your trip falls in that window, book your accommodation months out and expect the centre to be shoulder-to-shoulder most evenings.
