Belvedere Irish Night Show, Dance and Traditional 3-Course Dinner

About This Tour

The Belvedere Irish Night Show is an evening of Irish dance, live music and singing in the Belvedere Bar on Great Denmark Street - an intimate venue where every seat has a clear view of the raised stage. The show was created and choreographed by Jim Murrihy, Director of Damhsa, with an original score written for it.

The cast has toured in Riverdance, Feet of Flames and Lord of the Dance. The performance moves through the full range of Irish dance - from sean nós, the old-style solo traditional form, through to the jigs and reels most people know, and into the fast-paced synchronised style that tends to stop the room. It’s high-energy, and the staging is tight. The dancers are very good.

Before the show starts, you’ll sit down to a three-course dinner of home-cooked Irish dishes. Adult tickets include three courses; children’s tickets cover two courses. Beverages, tea and coffee aren’t included, but you can order them at the bar throughout the evening.

At some point during the show, a few volunteers get invited up on stage to learn some dance steps with the cast. It tends to go exactly as you’d expect, and it’s usually the moment the room comes alive.

Local Tips

Arrive as close to 18:30 as you can. Doors open at 18:30 and dinner starts at 18:45, but arriving early gives you time to settle in, choose where you’re sitting, and have a drink before the food arrives. The room isn’t huge, and seats closer to the stage fill up quickly. You’ll have a cleaner experience if you’re not navigating a full room in the middle of starter service.

Great Denmark Street puts you well-placed for a pre-evening walk. The Belvedere Hotel is in Dublin 1, a short walk from the Garden of Remembrance on Parnell Square and from O’Connell Street. If you’re arriving with time to spare, the area around Parnell Square has some good pubs and cafes, and the gardens are free to walk through.

The sean nós section is worth paying attention to. A lot of visitors focus on the big group numbers - and those are great - but the solo sean nós dancing is something genuinely unusual if you haven’t seen it before. It’s an older, less formal style, closer to the ground and more improvised-feeling than the synchronised sequences. Don’t miss it while you’re looking at the menu.

Sort your drinks order early. Beverages aren’t included in the ticket price, and service during the dinner can be busy when the room is full. If you want wine with your meal, or a pint before the show, flag down the bar staff early in the evening rather than waiting until everyone else has the same idea.

If your group is 6 or more, contact the organiser directly before booking online. Groups that size should book through the Belvedere team rather than just purchasing tickets through the standard booking flow. It’s worth doing this early, particularly in summer or around bank holidays, when the show fills up well in advance.
