Private Transfer Dublin to Killarney

About

The road from Dublin to Killarney is a good one once you’re clear of the city - rolling through the Midlands before the landscape opens into the hills of Kerry. The journey takes about 4.5 hours, and this chauffeur service draws on 40+ years of experience to make every minute of it as easy as possible.

Your chauffeur monitors your flight throughout. If it lands early or gets delayed, they adjust - you won’t be standing around waiting, and they won’t be phoning you in a panic. When you come through arrivals, they’ll be in the hall holding a name-board, so you can collect your bags and walk straight out without any searching.

Hotel pickup and drop-off is included, and all pickups come with a complimentary 60-minute wait at the airport. The service is professional, reliable, and discreet - your group, your vehicle, your schedule.

Local Tips

Give yourself time to breathe when you arrive. Killarney town itself is compact and easy to walk around, but the real draw is Killarney National Park, which surrounds it on three sides. The park covers over 10,000 hectares and has been here in one form or another since 1932 - it’s Ireland’s oldest. If you’re arriving late in the day, even a short walk along the lake shore near Ross Castle is worth it for the evening light on the mountains.

The Ring of Kerry starts right on your doorstep. The famous 179km scenic drive loops out from Killarney and back, taking in Killorglin, the Iveragh Peninsula, and Kenmare. Most visitors do it clockwise by coach, so if you’re in a private car you’re better going anti-clockwise - you’ll have a much easier time at passing points. That’s something to plan for the following day, but worth knowing before you go.

Jaunting cars are not just for tourists. The traditional horse-drawn jaunting cars around Killarney are genuinely useful for getting around the park’s main sights - Muckross House, the Lakes, and Torc Waterfall - especially if your group includes anyone who’d rather not walk several kilometres. Your hotel or the town centre can point you to a reputable jarvey (driver).

Packing for Kerry weather. Even in summer, Kerry can produce all four seasons in a single afternoon. A waterproof layer is not optional. The upside is that the light after rain in the park is genuinely remarkable, and you’re likely to have popular spots almost to yourself if you head out after a shower.
