Private Transfer from Dundalk to Belfast City Airport (BHD)

About This Transfer

Belfast City Airport (BHD) sits right on the edge of the city, which means the drive from Dundalk is a little shorter than the run to the international airport. Your driver collects you directly from your hotel or private address in Dundalk and takes you straight there - no shared vehicles, no stops, no surprises on the bill.

The vehicle is a premium car or minivan with space for up to 6 passengers. The journey takes about 1 hour 15 minutes. All taxes, VAT, parking fees, airport tolls, and gratuities are folded into the price.

This is a private, one-way transfer.

Local Tips

BHD and BFS are two different airports. Belfast City Airport (BHD), also known as George Best Belfast City Airport, is located close to Belfast city centre - about 3 miles east of the city. Belfast International (BFS) is further out near Aldergrove. Check your airline confirmation carefully before booking: the code “BHD” means you’re flying from the city airport. If it says “BFS”, you’ll need the separate Dundalk to Belfast Airport (BFS) transfer.

The border is on the route, but it won’t slow you down. The drive from Dundalk crosses into Northern Ireland, and there are no passport checks or vehicle stops. Your driver makes this journey routinely. If you’ve never crossed the Irish land border before, you’ll barely notice where it happens.

BHD has a smaller terminal than you might expect. That’s mostly a good thing - security queues tend to move faster and the walk from drop-off to departure gate is short. Belfast City Airport recommends arriving at least 90 minutes before short-haul flights, but 2 hours gives you a comfortable margin.

Each passenger is allocated one standard suitcase at 46x69x29cm. If anyone in your group has extra or oversized luggage, mention it when booking so the right vehicle is arranged and there are no unexpected fees at pickup.
