1-Hour Cocktail Masterclass Experience in Dublin

About This Tour

Stillgarden Distillery sits in the heart of Dublin 8, one of the city’s most creative and fast-moving neighbourhoods. The team here makes modern Irish spirits using methods that genuinely push at what distilling can do - vacuum distillation, rotary evaporation, and flavour combinations you won’t find anywhere else. This one-hour masterclass puts you right in the middle of it.

Your session is led by the distillery’s own experts, who walk you through the techniques that professional bartenders use behind the best bars in Dublin. You’ll learn how to balance flavours, when to shake versus stir, and why the ice matters more than you’d think. Every spirit you work with is made on site at Stillgarden, so each cocktail you mix has a real story behind it - from the botanicals in the gin to the fruit infusions in the vodka.

By the end of the hour you’ll have mixed and tasted several cocktails, picked up skills that will genuinely change how you make drinks at home, and got a real feel for what goes into a properly made cocktail.

Local Tips

Dublin 8 is worth exploring before or after your session. The neighbourhood around Stillgarden has changed a lot in recent years and has some genuinely good spots for food and drink that aren’t on the main tourist circuit. The area around the South Circular Road and Portobello has a good concentration of independent cafes, restaurants and bars - ask the team at Stillgarden for their current favourites.

You don’t need to know anything about cocktails going in. The masterclass is genuinely pitched for people with no background in bartending - the experts build from the basics and the group atmosphere makes it easy to ask questions. If you do have some experience, you’ll still pick up things you didn’t know, because Stillgarden’s methods are genuinely different from what you’d find in most bars.

It’s a particularly good option for groups. The maximum group size of 25 and the hands-on format mean it works well for birthday groups, hen parties, corporate evenings, or just a group of friends who want to do something more interesting than a standard night out. Booking in advance is a good idea if you’re coming with a larger group.

Stillgarden’s spirits are available to buy. If you fall for a particular gin or vodka during the masterclass, you can pick up a bottle before you leave. It’s a good souvenir that you’ve actually tried rather than something you bought off a shelf at the airport.

The Luas is the easiest way to get there. Dublin 8 is well connected, and a Luas stop puts you within a short walk of Stillgarden. Worth checking the route before you go so you’re not wandering the South Circular Road looking for the Oblate Church.
