Your chauffeur will meet you in the arrivals hall at Dublin Airport, name card in hand, or collect you from your Dublin City address and take you and your luggage straight to Ashley Park House in Tipperary. It’s a fully private transfer, so there’s no sharing with other passengers and no waiting around for a group to fill up.
Need the journey in reverse? Book the same transfer for the return leg to Dublin City or the airport, and let the operator know your pick-up location when you’re making the reservation.
Allow yourself the full two hours and settle in. The drive from Dublin to Tipperary takes roughly two hours depending on traffic around the M7, and the stretch once you leave the motorway is genuinely pleasant countryside. You’re not in a rush, so pack a book or take the opportunity to sort out your plans for the stay.
Ashley Park House sits on the edge of Lough Derg. The house itself is a Georgian country house on about 76 acres, and the lake is one of the Shannon’s largest, stretching between Tipperary, Clare and Galway. If the weather is cooperating when you arrive, it’s worth a slow walk around the grounds before you go inside.
Nenagh is your nearest town for anything practical. It’s about five minutes up the road from Ashley Park and has a supermarket, a pharmacy, and a couple of good spots for coffee. The Tuesday morning market in Nenagh town centre is worth a look if you’re around for the week.
Tipperary in general deserves more than one night. The Rock of Cashel is about 40 minutes south by car, the Glen of Aherlow is even closer, and the Silvermines Mountains are right there behind you. It’s a county that tends to surprise visitors who expected to just pass through.
