When you come through arrivals at Dublin Airport, your chauffeur is already there holding a name card for you. The service tracks your flight electronically, so if you land early or late, the pickup adjusts accordingly. You get a full hour of complimentary waiting time, which takes the pressure off any baggage delays.
The drive to The Shelbourne is in a Mercedes Benz E220 Executive Class. It’s comfortable, air-conditioned, and takes up to 3 passengers with luggage. All fees, taxes, and tolls are covered in the price, so there are no surprises at the end of the journey.
The Shelbourne sits on St Stephen’s Green at the heart of Georgian Dublin. It’s a short walk from Grafton Street and an easy base for pretty much anywhere in the city centre.
The vehicle and chauffeur are fully licensed and insured under the Irish Government Transport Authority.
Arriving at Terminal 1 or Terminal 2? The chauffeur will confirm your terminal when you book. Dublin Airport has two terminals and they’re separate buildings, so it’s worth double-checking before you land to make sure you’re looking in the right arrivals hall.
Luggage from a longer trip. If you’re coming off a transatlantic or long-haul flight and carrying more than two standard cases, flag it at booking. The Mercedes E220 has a generous boot but it does have limits, and knowing in advance avoids any reshuffling at the kerb.
St Stephen’s Green area. The Shelbourne is on the north side of the green. There’s metered parking on nearby streets if anyone is collecting you for onward travel, but drop-offs at the hotel front entrance are straightforward.
Timing your arrival into the city. The airport is roughly 12-15 km north of the city centre. Outside of rush hour the drive takes around 30-40 minutes. Morning rush (7:30-9:30am) and evening rush (4:30-7pm) can add time, but your chauffeur knows the routes well.
