Your chauffeur meets you at Dublin Airport arrivals with a name card, or collects you from your Dublin city location, whichever works better for you. Your flight is tracked electronically so there’s no guesswork on timing, and you get a full hour of complimentary waiting time at the airport.
From there you’ll travel north to Castle Leslie Estate in Glaslough, County Monaghan, in a Mercedes Benz E220 Executive Class. The car takes up to 3 passengers and luggage (2 standard 20kg cases plus 2 small suitcases), and the vehicle and chauffeur are fully licensed and insured under the Irish Government Transport Authority. All fees, taxes, and tolls are covered.
Castle Leslie has been in the same family since 1665. The estate still belongs to the Leslies, and that continuity shows in the place. The house is full of original furniture, family portraits, and what feels like genuine accumulated life rather than staged heritage. Sir Paul McCartney married Heather Mills here in 2002, which the Leslies mention with modest pride.
Glaslough village is tiny and easy to walk in five minutes. The estate runs right to the edge of the village, and the lake that gives the village its name sits just inside the gates. If you’re staying overnight, an early morning walk around the lake is a good way to get your bearings.
County Monaghan is drumlin country. The landscape between Dublin and the estate on the N2 north is a rolling sequence of small hills left by glaciers, with little lakes caught between them. It’s one of the more distinctive stretches of Irish countryside and worth looking at rather than sleeping through.
The equestrian centre is one of the best in Ireland. If riding is part of your plan, Castle Leslie’s stables run lessons and hacks across the estate grounds. It’s worth booking ahead as availability, especially for longer rides, fills quickly at weekends.
