Dublin To Youghal Private Car Transfer

About This Tour

Your chauffeur meets you in the arrivals hall with a name card - no hunting for a driver, no uncertainty after a long flight. The car is tracked to your flight, so the timing adjusts around you, and you get a full hour of complimentary waiting time at the airport.

The vehicle is a Mercedes Benz E220 Executive Class, with room for up to 3 passengers and luggage (2 standard 20 kg cases plus 2 small suitcases). The chauffeur and vehicle are fully licensed and insured under the Irish Government Transport Authority.

Youghal sits at the mouth of the Blackwater River on the Cork coast, about two to two-and-a-half hours south of Dublin depending on traffic. It’s one of those Irish towns where a lot of medieval fabric has survived - the old town walls, the Clock Gate Tower, and the collegiate church of St Mary are all within easy walking distance of each other.

Local Tips

The Clock Gate Tower on Main Street is the most distinctive thing in Youghal’s skyline. Built in 1777 across the main road through town, it served as a jail and a watchtower at different points in its history. It’s been restored and you can climb inside - the views from the top take in the harbour and the Blackwater estuary. It’s a good first stop when you arrive.

Youghal’s medieval town walls are among the best-preserved in Ireland. A stretch of them still stands above the town, and the walk along the top of the wall gives you a proper sense of the old town’s layout. The nearby Tynte’s Castle and the Church of St Mary (which dates to the 13th century) are both worth a look if you’ve got the time.

The town has a decent beach a short walk from the centre. Youghal Strand runs south of the town along the bay - it’s a traditional seaside resort beach, backed by the promenade, and it gets lively in summer. If you’re arriving in the evening and want somewhere to eat, the waterfront area has several options.

Ballycotton is about 20 minutes west along the coast. It’s a small fishing village on a clifftop with a working harbour, a lighthouse island just offshore, and a coastal walk that takes about an hour and a half. It’s a good half-day add-on if you’re based in Youghal for a couple of nights.
