Guided historical tours of the Abbey of Donegal covering the story of the Abbey, the O’Donnell Chieftains including Red Hugh O’Donnell, the Four Masters, and their influence on Irish history from 1474 to 1636. Tours are led by knowledgeable guides and depart from the end of Donegal Quay each morning.
Tours run daily from August 12-18, 2026, starting at 11am each morning. Meet at the end of Donegal Quay. Tours are part of National Heritage Week and are free to attend. The Abbey of Donegal is one of Ireland’s most significant historical monuments.
