What to Expect

RCC Kids: Mini Cinema is a free, drop-in screening programme for children held in Studio 2 at the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny. Each session features a curated selection of short films from Ireland and beyond, shown on a loop across the afternoon so families can drop in and out as they please rather than committing to a single fixed start time. The Centre pairs the screenings with its hands-on art room next door, making it easy to combine a film with a bit of drawing or craft on the same visit. There is no need to book and no charge for admission, which makes it a low-pressure option for a wet Saturday afternoon in Letterkenny.

The Regional Cultural Centre is Donegal County Council’s dedicated arts venue, sharing its Port Road campus with An Grianán Theatre, the county’s main professional receiving theatre. Between them the two buildings host most of Letterkenny’s touring theatre, music, comedy and visual art programme, and Studio 2, where the mini cinema runs, is one of the Centre’s smaller flexible spaces used for workshops, talks and family activities rather than its main gallery halls.

Getting There

The Regional Cultural Centre is on Port Road in Letterkenny, Donegal’s largest town, a short walk from the town centre and adjacent to An Grianán Theatre.
