Mermaid Arts Centre in Bray screens a film most Monday nights at 8pm, mixing new arthouse and world cinema releases with the occasional documentary. The next screening, on Monday, 20 July 2026, is The Blue Trail, Gabriel Mascaro’s Portuguese-language drama about a 77-year-old woman fleeing a state relocation order for the elderly in near-future Brazil, winner of the Silver Bear Grand Jury Prize at the 2025 Berlin Film Festival. The Monday slot is Mermaid’s regular cinema strand, alternating between subtitled international releases, documentaries and the occasional mainstream title, rather than following a single theme. Mermaid Arts Centre is on Main Street in Bray, a short walk from Bray Daly DART station and close to Dublin Bus and Bus Éireann stops in the town centre. Evening screenings generally finish in time to catch a late DART back to Dublin on most nights.
