Donegal Intermediate Football Championship 2026

At Fr Tierney Park · Fr Tierney Park, Bundoran, Co. Donegal

The second tier of Donegal’s club football pyramid, the Intermediate Football Championship, plays a group-stage round on 9 August 2026. Realt na Mara (Bundoran) host Naomh Pádraig, Uisce Chaoin at Fr Tierney Park, one of two Intermediate Championship group games on the day.

What to Expect

Intermediate is the grade directly below Senior in Donegal, made up of clubs chasing promotion and a shot at senior status. Alongside the Bundoran fixture, Málainn (Malin) host Cloich Cheann Fhaola (Falcarragh) at Connolly Park. Both games are part of the round-robin group phase that decides seeding for the knockout stages later in the championship. These are typically hard-fought, well-attended club occasions, with local rivalries and promotion ambitions raising the stakes above a normal league fixture. Reserve team fixtures are often played as curtain-raisers on the same afternoon at the same grounds, so arriving in good time usually means catching two games rather than one.
