At Carn Domhnach · Carn Domhnach, Carndonagh, Co. Donegal
Donegal’s ladies Intermediate clubs play a full group-stage round on 9 August 2026. CLG Carndomhnaigh (Carndonagh) host Naomh Columba at their home grounds in Carndonagh, one of three LGFA Intermediate Championship games on the day.
Intermediate is the second tier of Donegal’s ladies football pyramid, contested by clubs pushing for senior status. Alongside the Carndonagh fixture, Na Dúnaibh/Downings host Gaoth Dobhair at their own grounds, and CLG Na Cealla Beaga (Killybegs) host CLG Bun Cranncha (Buncrana) at Eamonn Byrne Memorial Park. All three are round-robin group games in a competition that feeds a knockout stage later in the championship. Inishowen and west Donegal clubs tend to dominate this grade, and games are typically fast and physical, with home support playing a real part in tight results. Many of these players also line out for county underage panels, so the standard on view is well above what the grade name might suggest.
Carndonagh is the main town of the Inishowen peninsula, reached via the N13 from Letterkenny and Derry, then the R238 into the town. Pitch-side parking is available on match days, with the town centre a short walk away. Downings, on the Rosguill peninsula, and Killybegs, on the south-west coast, are both roughly an hour’s drive from Carndonagh via the N56 and N13.
