At The Glenbeigh Hotel - Festival Tent · Main Street, Glenbeigh, Co. Kerry
The Glenbeigh Summer Festival runs across the weekend of 10-12 July 2026, and this vision board workshop lands on the final day - a Sunday lunchtime activity designed to round off a full family weekend rather than ask anything of you at nine in the morning. Held in the festival tent at the Glenbeigh Hotel on Main Street, it draws children and parents together around a table with magazines, scissors, card stock and colour to make something personal. The premise is simple: cut out images and words that represent what you want from life, arrange them into a board, and walk away with something handmade. It suits kids from about five upward, adults who like a creative hour away from screens, and families looking for a structured but loose activity in between all the outdoor action happening around the village.
The workshop is run as part of the wider Glenbeigh Summer Festival, which fills the village with street food, live music, a farmers market outside the Little Belfry Church, and a marathon along Caragh Lake. The vision board session itself is a participatory craft workshop - not a lecture, not a performance. All materials are provided on the day so there is nothing to bring along. You work at your own pace, there is no wrong result, and the finished board is yours to take home. It starts at noon and runs in the festival tent attached to the Glenbeigh Hotel, which gives it a covered, communal feel even if the Kerry weather turns. Tickets are priced from €10.
Glenbeigh sits on the N70, the main Ring of Kerry road, about 20 km west of Killorglin. From Killarney, follow signs for the Ring of Kerry and allow roughly 40 minutes. From Tralee, head south through Castlemaine - around 35 minutes. There is no direct bus to Glenbeigh, so a car or a taxi from Killorglin is the practical option for most visitors. Parking in the village is informal and free; during festival weekend space fills up early on the Main Street stretch, so arriving a few minutes before noon is wise.
The village has a long Blue Flag beach at Rossbeigh Strand, a short drive from the Main Street, and the Caragh Lake loop used by the marathon is good walking country even outside race day. There is more to see in Glenbeigh and across Co. Kerry.
