Now That's What I Call 00-10s Disco

At Set Theatre Kilkenny · Set Theatre, Kilkenny, Co. Kilkenny

DJ disco night at Set Theatre Kilkenny

If you were making playlists on Windows Media Player, buying singles in HMV, or watching Top of the Pops between 2000 and 2010, this night was built for you. WeLike2Party brings their Now That’s What I Call 00-10s Disco to Set Theatre on Saturday 4 July - a floor-filling evening of the chart hits that defined a generation. Think Beyonce, Daft Punk, Justin Timberlake, The Killers, Rihanna, and everything in between that made you press repeat. It suits anyone who wants a proper dance rather than a concert queue, and it works just as well for a birthday group or a casual night out with friends.

What to expect

The night is DJ-led and built around the bangers - anthems from both decades back to back, the kind of set where you find yourself singing along to songs you hadn’t thought about in years. Set Theatre is a mid-sized room that holds around 400 standing, which keeps things energetic without feeling cavernous. The venue is part of Langtons Hotel on John Street - a well-run, well-lit space with a proper bar and good sound. Expect a lively crowd, a dancefloor that fills up early, and enough floor space to actually move. Dress smart-casual; it’s a disco night, so nobody will judge you for leaning into the era.

Getting there

Kilkenny is about 120km south of Dublin on the M9 motorway - roughly 90 minutes by car. From Cork, take the N25/M9 north; from Waterford, it’s under an hour on the N10. The venue sits on John Street in the city centre, and McDonagh Junction Shopping Centre is close by if you need a landmark. Set Theatre is a five-minute walk from Kilkenny train station, which has regular services from Dublin Heuston (just over an hour) and connections from the south. Bus Eireann also serves Kilkenny from several cities. Street parking is available around the city centre in the evenings, and there are several pay car parks within short walking distance - the city is compact enough that nothing is far.

While you’re in Kilkenny

Kilkenny City is one of the most walkable places in Ireland, with the castle, the medieval mile, and some genuinely good restaurants and pubs all within easy reach of the venue. A Saturday night out here pairs well with an afternoon exploring the lanes. There is more to see in Kilkenny and across Co. Kilkenny.
