Langton’s on John Street runs a Saturday night that moves from live band to late bar as the evening goes on, with the house band Keltic Kats playing first and DJ Noel Murphy taking over once the late bar kicks in. What to expect

Live music runs across all seven nights at Langton’s 67 Bar, with a different act on most nights: Keltic Kats play Monday to Thursday and again on Sunday, The Cherry Poppers take Friday, and Saturday belongs to Keltic Kats followed by DJ Noel Murphy once the late bar opens up. The building has multiple bars and dance areas plus Langton’s own nightclub, so a Saturday night here can move between rooms rather than staying in one space all evening. The complex also houses SET Theatre, recently named Live Venue of the Year at the 2025 Hot Press Awards, so a Saturday can start with a gig next door before moving into Langton’s for the late bar and DJ set.

Getting there

Langton’s is at 69 John Street, one of Kilkenny city centre’s main streets, a short walk from the train and bus stations and from Parliament Street. There is no dedicated car park; the city centre’s pay-and-display car parks are the nearest option, though a Saturday night out is easier without a car in any case.
