LB2 Nightclub at The Left Bank

The Left Bank, a converted Bank of Ireland branch on The Parade, is one of Kilkenny city’s largest nightlife venues, built around nine separate bar spaces under one roof. LB2, its first-floor nightclub, is the late-night end of that operation, opening Friday and Saturday nights from 8pm through to late with resident DJs playing a mix aimed at a broad range of ages rather than a single genre.

What to expect

LB2 runs across three connected areas on the first floor, the LB2 Main Bar, the Red Room Bar and the Absolut Bar, giving the club several distinct spaces to move between over the course of a night rather than one single room. A €10 cover charge applies on Saturday nights; Friday’s door policy is less strictly advertised. The venue also takes group bookings for LB2 directly, which it markets as better value than paying at the door on the night, useful for hen parties, birthdays or larger nights out. The wider Left Bank building includes its own restaurant, Rive Gauche, serving food earlier in the evening before the nightclub side of the operation takes over upstairs.

Getting there

The Left Bank is at No. 1 The Parade in Kilkenny city centre, close to the Kilkenny Castle grounds and a short walk from the main John Street and Parliament Street pub strip. There is no dedicated car park; the city centre’s pay-and-display car parks are the nearest option, and a night out here is easier without a car regardless.

The Parade sits right beside Kilkenny Castle, so a night at LB2 pairs naturally with dinner in the city centre or a walk around the castle grounds earlier in the evening. There is more to see in Kilkenny and across Co. Kilkenny.
