At Lifford Stadium · Lifford Stadium, Lifford, Co. Donegal
Lifford Stadium is County Donegal’s greyhound track, running under Greyhound Racing Ireland with racing every week of the year. Saturday cards get underway at 7:45pm and Sunday cards at 6:36pm, each with a full programme of races run in heats around the stadium’s oval track. As at every Greyhound Racing Ireland venue, races are sprint distances over a few hundred metres, with dogs graded by ability so races stay competitive rather than mismatched, and a typical card runs to around ten races across the evening. Greyhound Racing Ireland is the semi-state body that regulates and promotes the sport nationally, overseeing tracks from Shelbourne Park in Dublin down to smaller regional stadiums like Lifford, so racing here follows the same rules and grading system used at every licensed track in the country. The stadium has an on-site restaurant, with bookings taken directly through the venue for those who want a meal with a view of the track rather than standing trackside for the evening, and on-course tote betting is available for anyone who wants to follow the card race by race.
Lifford Stadium is on the edge of Lifford town, just off the N14/N15 junction and a short drive from Strabane across the river.
