What to Expect

The Mid-Antrim Museum is housed within The Braid, Ballymena’s award-winning cultural complex combining a town hall, museum, arts centre and conference facilities. The history gallery presents the story of mid-Antrim and its people in a contemporary way. Throughout 2026, the museum runs a programme of changing exhibitions, historical talks and craft workshops, many tied to the Ballymena 400 programme celebrating the town’s 400th anniversary. Events in 2026 have included an evening of story and song exploring ancient traditions and the area’s Scottish links, and a basket weaving workshop by Welig Heritage Crafts.
