Monk Fest 2026

At Limerick Pharmarcia · Limerick, Co. Limerick

Monk Fest 2026 performance

Monk Fest is an annual underground music showcase put on by Cursed Monk Records and From The Depths, held at Pharmacia on Sarsfield Street in Limerick city centre. It was created to honour the memory of a young girl named Ash, and all proceeds from tickets, merchandise, and raffle sales go directly to the Play Therapy Department at Temple Street Children’s Hospital. That charitable heart gives the event a warmth that sits alongside its deliberately heavy, noisy programme - and it draws a genuinely passionate crowd who know they are getting something real rather than something polished.

What to expect

Friday 3 July is an evening of Industrial, Drone, Noise, and Gorenoise - performed upstairs in Pharmacia’s intimate live space, doors at 6:30pm with music from 7:30pm through to 2am. The music leans hard into the experimental and extreme end of the underground spectrum, drawing artists from the Cursed Monk Records roster. If those genres are your world, this is a tightly curated night rather than a sprawling festival lineup. The Saturday programme expands things further with a craft market, live podcast from Emmett Allen of the From The Depths Metal Podcast, DJ sets, eight bands, and a monster raffle with prizes from the underground music, maker, and art communities. Monk Fest is strictly 18 and over.

Getting there

Pharmacia is on Sarsfield Street in the city centre, a 13-minute walk from Colbert Station, which serves Bus Eireann regional routes and Irish Rail connections from Dublin Heuston, Cork and Ennis. If you are driving, Q Park is a two-minute walk from the venue. Limerick is on the M7 motorway, roughly one hour from Dublin and 45 minutes from Cork. The city centre is compact enough that most visitors walk between the station, hotels, and the venue with no trouble.

While you’re in Limerick

Limerick city is easy to spend a day in before the show - the Hunt Museum, King John’s Castle, and the Treaty Stone are all within easy walking distance of Pharmacia. There is more to see in Limerick and across Co. Limerick.
