At Button Factory · Curved Street, Temple Bar, Dublin 2
Superchunk have been making guitar-driven indie rock out of Chapel Hill, North Carolina since 1989, and their influence on American alternative music is enormous. Mack Avenue Skydive, Slack Motherfucker, Hyper Enough, What Do I Do Now, these are records that defined what indie rock could be in the 1990s, and the band have kept making excellent music well into the 2020s.
Their Button Factory Dublin show on 27 June 2026 is their first Irish appearance in 25 years, which makes it genuinely significant for anyone who has followed their work. There is something special about a band of this calibre choosing to play a venue this size rather than a larger room, and Button Factory’s intimate setting means this will feel close and real.
For fans who have been waiting a quarter-century and for anyone who wants to understand what independent guitar music sounds like when it is done right, this show is not to be missed.
