About This Tour

Dublin is a city that photographs well, and there’s something about having good pictures from a trip that makes the whole thing feel more real when you’re back home. This one-hour private photoshoot is a relaxed way to get them - whether you’re marking an anniversary, celebrating an engagement, or just enjoying a few romantic days in the city.

Your photographer knows where the light hits and where the crowds thin out, and the session moves at a natural pace. No stiff poses against a wall - just genuine moments as you walk through some of Dublin’s most characterful streets and landmarks.

The route passes Dublin Castle, which began as a Viking settlement and later served as the centre of British administration in Ireland for centuries before being handed to the Irish government in 1922. You’ll walk past City Hall, built between 1769 and 1779 and designed by Thomas Cooley after he won an open architectural competition. The session also takes in the Ha’penny Bridge, built after William Walsh decided a new bridge made more sense than repairing his aging Liffey ferry service - the halfpenny toll for crossings ran until 1919.

Your finished gallery has a minimum of 30 professionally edited high-resolution images, delivered within 3 to 4 days via a private download link with password access. There’s no strict cap - all the good shots make it in. Images are 3000x3000 HD quality.

Local Tips

Morning light is flattering and the streets are quieter. Dublin’s city centre gets busy by mid-morning on weekends, particularly around the Temple Bar area and the Ha’penny Bridge. If you have flexibility on timing, an earlier start gives you a more relaxed session with better photographic light and fewer other people in frame.

The Ha’penny Bridge looks its best from the south quay. Standing on Aston Quay and looking west towards the bridge gives you the classic shot - the iron arch framed against the sky with the Liffey below. Your photographer will know this and similar vantage points, but it helps to know what you’re looking at when you get there.

Dublin Castle is photographically interesting from several angles. The main courtyard has a formal, open quality that works well for portraits. The Revenue Commissioner’s building on the east side has a more textured, older stone feel if you want something with more character. The Record Tower, built in 1226, is the oldest surviving part of the castle complex.

Comfortable shoes matter. The session covers ground across the city centre and lasts an hour on foot. You’ll be walking on cobbles around Dublin Castle and Temple Bar, which aren’t always forgiving. Wear something you’d actually walk in - the best photos usually come when people are moving naturally rather than posing carefully.

The session is also available in French. If French is your first language or the more comfortable one for the group, the photographer can conduct the session in French.
