Irish Airport Transfers

About

Landing in Dublin Airport with bags, jetlag, and a couple of hours still to go before you reach Galway is a particular kind of tired. This private transfer takes all the thinking out of that last leg. Your driver meets you at arrivals with a name board, helps with your luggage, and has WiFi and bottled water ready in a clean, high-spec vehicle. From there, you sit back and let the Irish countryside do its thing as you head west.

The vehicle is yours alone - no shared passengers, no extra stops. The journey takes approximately 2 to 3 hours depending on your destination. If your flight is delayed, the driver can work with flexible pickup times, so you’re not scrambling to reach anyone if you’re running late. Infant and child seats are available on request.

Local Tips

The road to Galway is genuinely good. The M6 motorway west from Dublin takes you through the flat midlands before the landscape starts to open up and get wilder as you approach County Galway. By the time you’re on the outskirts of the city, you’ll feel like you’ve properly arrived somewhere. It’s worth staying awake for the last forty minutes.

Meet and greet at Dublin Airport is at the arrivals hall. Your driver will be waiting with your name on a board, which takes away the usual airport anxiety of wondering if you’ve missed each other. Dublin Airport arrivals can be busy, particularly at Terminal 1, so give yourself a few minutes to clear customs and collect bags before expecting to see them.

The private setup matters on this route. The bus from Dublin to Galway exists and it’s fine, but with bags, possibly tired children, and the prospect of a holiday ahead, having a car that goes directly to your accommodation with no stops is a different experience. Particularly if you’re arriving late.

Galway city centre is compact enough to explore on foot. Once you’re dropped at your accommodation, you’re likely within walking distance of the Spanish Arch, Shop Street, and the Long Walk. Don’t feel like you need to plan anything for the first evening - Galway rewards just wandering.

If you’re heading beyond Galway city - to Connemara, the Aran Islands ferry point at Rossaveal, or County Clare - let the operator know your exact destination when booking. The transfer covers Galway and surrounding areas, and your driver will know the routes well.
