Dublin Airport to Ballina Co. Mayo Premium Car Service

About

Ballina is Mayo’s largest town, and the roughly 3-hour drive from Dublin Airport takes you up through the midlands and into the Atlantic heartland of the west. DM Executive Line covers the route in a modern Mercedes-Benz with a certified professional driver, meeting you at the airport with a proper meet-and-greet and taking you directly to your destination door-to-door.

You get 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time from the airport pickup, so if your bags take a while or the queue at passport control is moving slowly, your driver will be there. The vehicle fits 2 carry-on bags and 2 checked suitcases, or up to 3 medium-sized suitcases. The price is fixed at booking - what you see when you book is what you pay.

Local Tips

Ballina sits on the River Moy, one of Ireland’s best salmon rivers. If you’re arriving during the fishing season (roughly February to September), the stretch through town is famous and the Ridge Pool just off the main street attracts anglers from around the world. Even if you’re not fishing, it’s a fine walk along the banks.

The town is a good base for north Mayo. The Wild Atlantic Way runs just to the west, and Killala Bay, Downpatrick Head and the cliffs at Céide Fields are all within 30-40 minutes. Céide Fields in particular is worth the trip - it’s the oldest enclosed field system in the world, preserved under a blanket of bog for thousands of years.

Enniscoe House is nearby if you want a quieter stay. This Georgian country house sits on the shores of Lough Conn and operates as a guesthouse with a walled garden and a genealogy research centre - useful if you’re in Mayo tracing family roots, which many visitors are.

Ballina’s food scene has grown quietly. The town has a handful of good cafes and a farmers’ market worth visiting on a Saturday morning. Flanagan’s on the Square and the Moy Valley Hotel are both popular with locals and visitors for straightforward, good-quality food.
