Capture Your Special Day: Birthday Photoshoot in Dublin City

About This Tour

A birthday in Dublin deserves better than blurry phone snaps. This one-hour professional photoshoot captures your celebration properly, with a photographer who knows Dublin city centre and knows how to make a birthday group look great without the stiffness of a formal portrait sitting.

The session takes place across Dublin city centre, using the streets, architecture, and atmosphere of the city as your backdrop. Your photographer guides you throughout, keeping things fun and relaxed so the photos actually reflect how good the day was. It works equally well for solo birthday portraits or a group out for a birthday trip.

You’ll receive a minimum of 30 high-resolution edited images delivered within 3 to 4 days via a password-protected private download link. Images come in 3000x3000 HD quality, ready for printing or sharing. There’s no strict cap on numbers - all the good shots from the session make it into the final gallery.

Local Tips

Think about what you want the photos to feel like, not just where you want to be photographed. Dublin has a huge variety of backdrops - the Georgian doors on Merrion Square, the cobblestones of Temple Bar, the quays along the Liffey, the quieter laneways around Grafton Street. If you have a sense of what kind of images you’re after, mention it to your photographer at the start and they’ll steer the session accordingly.

Wear something that photographs well against stone and grey sky. Dublin’s palette tends toward blues, greys, and greens, and colours that pop against that - warm reds, mustard, navy, cream - tend to look better in the final images than neutrals that blend in. Avoid busy patterns if you can, and wear layers you can remove if the weather shifts mid-session.

The Stag’s Head meeting point is in a great part of the city for wandering before or after. Dame Court, the tiny lane the Stag’s Head sits on, is one of those Dublin spots that feels like it hasn’t changed much in decades. The streets around it - Dame Street, George’s Street Arcade, Drury Street - are worth an hour of your time either side of the session.

Overcast light is actually better for portraits than bright sunshine. Dublin’s cloud cover acts as a natural softbox, which photographers tend to prefer for this kind of work. Don’t be disappointed if it’s grey - it often makes for better images than a harsh sunny day would.

The password-protected download link makes sharing easy once you get it. The turnaround of 3 to 4 days means you’ll have your images before most of the birthday week is over. If you’re planning to print anything, 3000x3000 HD is large enough for a good quality A3 print.
