Dublin 6 Whiskey Tasting & 3 Food Pairing Walking Tour with Local

About This Tour

There’s a reason the Irish pub became famous the world over, and this 2.5-hour whiskey trail is your chance to experience the real thing. You’ll walk Dublin’s most celebrated pubs with a local guide who actually knows them, tasting your way through six Irish whiskeys along the route. Go for the Deluxe option and you’ll also get three food pairings woven in between the drams.

The routes change daily, so you’re always getting a slightly different slice of the city. A few options are available to put the experience together in a way that suits your group. And if whiskey genuinely isn’t your thing, cocktails are available to buy along the way.

You’ll meet your guide at Flavour Trails, right inside the beautiful Georgian surroundings of Powerscourt Towncentre. Come up the steps on South William Street, pass through the flower shop, walk past the oak staircase and head down the next set of steps. You’ll find the meeting point on your left. Arrive 15 minutes before the tour starts.

Local Tips

Powerscourt Towncentre is worth a look in itself. It’s one of Dublin’s finest Georgian shopping spaces, and many visitors walk straight past it on South William Street without knowing what’s inside. If you’re early to the meeting point, wander through the ground floor and look up at the courtyard ceiling.

Go for the Deluxe if you can. The food pairings aren’t just filler — pairing cheese, charcuterie, or smoked salmon with each dram genuinely changes how you taste the whiskey. It’s a more complete picture of what Irish whiskey is actually about.

Irish whiskey and Scotch are very different drinks. One thing your guide will likely get into is the triple-distillation process that makes Irish whiskey smoother than most Scotch expressions. Going in with that context helps you appreciate what you’re tasting rather than just drinking it.

Wear comfortable shoes. The route is a walking tour through the city centre, and while Dublin’s streets are flat enough, you’ll be on your feet for the full 2.5 hours, moving between pubs.

If you’re visiting on a busy weekend, book ahead. Groups are capped at 15, so spots do fill up, especially on Friday and Saturday evenings when the pubs along the route are already buzzing.
