DM Executive Line runs private chauffeur transfers between Dublin Airport and Mount Falcon Estate in County Mayo, covering both arrivals and departures. Your driver meets you at the hotel reception on departure days, or holds a name card for you in the arrivals hall when you fly in.
The journey west takes roughly three hours, and you’ll cover it in a Mercedes-Benz MPV with WiFi, bottled water and mobile device chargers on board. The MPV fits up to six checked suitcases, or the equivalent in smaller bags, so larger groups travelling with plenty of gear won’t have to leave anything behind. Airport arrivals come with 60 minutes of complimentary waiting time built in. The price is locked in when you book, with nothing added on afterwards.
Give yourself the full three hours. The run from Dublin Airport to Mount Falcon tracks the N4 and N5 out through Longford and Castlebar before dropping down toward Ballina. Traffic on the M50 can add 20 to 30 minutes on busy Friday afternoons, so if you’re arriving late in the week, it’s worth booking the next available slot rather than cutting things tight.
Mount Falcon sits on the eastern shore of Lough Conn, one of the great brown-trout loughs of the west. If you’re coming for the fishing, late April through June and September are the strongest months. Check whether the estate has a rod available before your trip rather than assuming one will be free on arrival.
Pack for the north Mayo shoulder. Even in summer the Lough Conn shoreline gets a westerly blow off the Atlantic, so a waterproof layer on top of whatever you’re wearing will earn its place. The estate grounds are walkable in most conditions, but the track down to the jetty can be muddy after rain.
For luggage on arrival, the MPV’s boot easily swallows six full-size cases, but if your group is carrying more than that, let the operator know at booking time so they can advise on vehicle options. Getting that sorted in advance is much easier than reorganising at the arrivals kerb.
