Dublin is full of brilliant backdrops, and this one-hour photoshoot pairs you with a local photographer who knows the city well and takes a genuinely relaxed approach to the session. No stiff poses, no forced smiles - just the two of you, comfortable in a spot you’ve chosen together.
You agree on the setting beforehand. The colourful streetscapes of Temple Bar, a quiet Georgian square, a leafy park - whatever fits your story and the way you want to remember your time in Dublin. Your photographer guides you through the hour with easy direction that keeps things natural, so the photos actually look like you both at your best.
Within three days of the session you’ll receive a full gallery of edited, high-resolution images ready to print, frame, or share. The session is LGBTQ+ friendly and set up so that every couple feels welcome and at ease from start to finish.
Think about the light, not just the location. Dublin’s golden hour in summer runs late - you can get beautiful soft evening light well past 8pm in June and July. If your schedule allows, an early-evening session gives you warmer tones than midday, and the streets around Merrion Square or the Grand Canal tend to be quieter then too. Worth mentioning to your photographer when you’re agreeing on the time.
Georgian Dublin is the most photogenic neighbourhood for this kind of session. The streets around Merrion Square, Fitzwilliam Square, and Leeson Street have those iconic red and black Dublin doors, iron railings, and wide pavements that photograph beautifully. If you’re not sure where to suggest, any of these is a safe and genuinely lovely starting point.
Temple Bar is busier than it looks on a map. It’s a great location for the energy and colour, but on weekend afternoons it can be genuinely crowded, which makes relaxed portrait work harder. If you’re set on a Temple Bar feel, an earlier start on a weekday morning gives you the look without the foot traffic.
Wear what you’d actually wear together on a nice day out. Coordinating outfits without matching too deliberately tends to look the best in photos. Avoid very busy patterns or pure white - both can be tricky in editing. But mostly, wear whatever makes you feel like yourselves.
