The 30+ Club Summer Session at Limelight Belfast - Late August

At Limelight · 17 Ormeau Avenue, Belfast, Co. Antrim

Limelight Belfast entrance

The 30+ Club has made a name for itself doing something straightforward but genuinely useful: giving people over thirty a proper club night that finishes at a sensible hour. This is the third and final Belfast Summer Session of 2026, and it follows two earlier sell-out dates at Limelight - the 5th of July and 2nd of August both went fast. If you missed those, this is your last chance at the series before summer ends.

The crowd is strictly over 30s, and that single rule changes the whole room. No jostling with hen dos fresh off their first Jagerbomb. The music is pop and dance classics - the stuff that was actually in the charts when the people on the dancefloor were young enough to be out every weekend. And because the organisers know their audience, the whole thing starts at 5pm, which means you can be home before midnight if you need to be.

What to expect

Limelight is a multi-room venue complex that has been a cornerstone of Belfast nightlife since 1987. The main room has a proper stage and a decent sound system; there is also a second room and Katy’s Bar next door if you need to step away from the floor. For a daytime session the atmosphere tends to build gradually from 5pm, with the dancefloor filling properly once the evening crowd arrives.

The 30+ Club accepts song requests via social media in advance, though they make no guarantees. Dress code is smart-casual - the guidance from the organisers is “dress for a night out and get into the spirit.” The August date is the last of the Belfast summer run, so expect it to have a slightly celebratory feel; the two previous dates sold out, so the crowd who do get tickets know they secured something.

Getting there

Limelight sits at 17 Ormeau Avenue in central Belfast, a short walk from Great Victoria Street and Belfast City Centre bus stops. Translink Metro buses serve the area well, and Great Victoria Street station is walkable for Enterprise rail passengers coming from Dublin. If you are driving from outside the city, the M1 and M2 bring you into Belfast; paid public car parks operate in the city centre and Ormeau Avenue is within easy reach of several. Taxis are plentiful in Belfast at this time of the evening.

While you’re in Belfast

Belfast has a great food and bar scene in the Cathedral Quarter and along Ormeau Road, both close to the venue - worth arriving early and making an afternoon of it. There is more to see in Belfast and across Co. Antrim.
