Cocktails and Canapes with Jawbox Gin

At Errigle Inn · 312-320 Ormeau Road, Belfast, Co. Antrim, BT7 2GE

Gin cocktails and canapes served on a bar

What to Expect

Gerry from Belfast-distilled Jawbox Gin hosts a guided cocktail and canape session at the Errigle Inn, one of south Belfast’s long-standing traditional pubs on the Ormeau Road, known locally for its live music room as much as its bar. Over ninety minutes, guests work through a selection of handcrafted Jawbox Gin cocktails paired with canapes, alongside a guided tasting and storytelling session that goes into the gin’s Belfast heritage and the botanicals used to make it, including how the recipe draws on the city’s industrial past for its name and branding. It is a smaller, seated format rather than a standing tasting, with doors opening fifteen minutes before the session starts to let everyone settle in before the cocktails are poured. The event is restricted to those aged 18 and over, and organisers ask that guests do not turn up significantly before the doors time given the limited seating in the room being used for the tasting. It is timed for the end of the summer and sits alongside the growing calendar of producer-led tasting nights that Belfast’s independent bars and food halls have been running through 2026, part of a broader trend of Northern Irish drinks brands partnering directly with neighbourhood pubs rather than only pouring at large festivals.
