At Custom House Square (CHSq) · Custom House Square, Belfast, Co. Antrim
Faithless are one of those acts that genuinely changed what a live dance show could be - and their appearance at Custom House Square on 20 August 2026 is not a nostalgia run. The band mark three decades since their debut album Reverence and 25 years since Insomnia became one of the most recognisable dance tracks on earth, but their eighth studio album Champion Sound is recent, ambitious, and very much part of what they will play. If you have ever stood in a field at 2am waiting for that piano riff, or danced in a club to God Is A DJ, this show will mean something. If you have not, it is a fine place to start.
Custom House Square is Belfast’s main outdoor summer concert space, and CHSq is the annual series that takes it over every August - the 2026 run goes from 8 August to 1 September, with headline shows spread across the month. Gates open at 6pm, and special guests are billed to perform before Faithless take the stage. The venue is standing only, open-air, set against the backdrop of one of Belfast’s finest neoclassical buildings. The square is compact enough to feel close to the stage while still holding a serious crowd. Bring layers - Belfast evenings in August can turn cool once the sun drops, especially at an outdoor show.
The Faithless live set draws on Rollo Armstrong and Sister Bliss’s full catalogue. Anthems like We Come 1, Salva Mea and Mass Destruction sit alongside newer material, and the production is built for a big outdoor stage.
Custom House Square sits in the Cathedral Quarter of central Belfast, just off Victoria Street and within easy walking distance of the Albert Clock. The closest train station is Lanyon Place (Belfast Central), roughly a ten-minute walk along the riverside. Trains run from Dublin Connolly via Enterprise service (roughly two hours), and from Derry, Portadown, and Newry. The Translink Metro bus network serves the city centre from across Greater Belfast.
If you are driving from the Republic, the M1 motorway brings you into the city from the south. Parking in the Cathedral Quarter area is limited on event nights - the Odyssey Arena car parks along the Laganside are a short walk and tend to have more capacity. Arriving by public transport is genuinely the easier option.
The Cathedral Quarter is one of the most interesting parts of the city to spend time in before the show - there are good pubs, restaurants, and the Ulster Hall is close by for anyone wanting a look at another of Belfast’s music venues. The Custom House building itself is worth a moment of attention. There is more to see in Belfast and across Co. Antrim.
