Riches of Clare Lunchtime Concert - Feakle Community Hall

At Feakle Community Hall · Feakle, Co. Clare

Traditional Irish music session

The Riches of Clare lunchtime concert at Feakle Community Hall is the closing event of Clare Arts Office’s long-running free concert series, and it lands on the final day of the International Feakle Festival - a pairing that makes the Monday a particularly good reason to stay until the end of the week. This is a one-hour concert of traditional Irish music with no ticket price and no booking required, which makes it one of the most accessible events on the Clare summer calendar. It suits anyone with an ear for trad: seasoned listeners, curious visitors, families, and people who have spent the week at the festival workshops and want a proper send-off.

What to expect

The Riches of Clare series has been running since 2005, organised by Clare Arts Office, and this concert is its season closer each year. The format is straightforward - around an hour of live traditional music in the Community Hall, performed at 1pm, with the audience seated and the atmosphere somewhere between a concert and a festival session. The series has a strong record of presenting musicians who are genuinely accomplished rather than decorative; past concerts have featured respected Clare and Connacht players in a programme that reflects the county’s reputation as one of the heartlands of Irish trad.

The concert takes place during the 39th International Feakle Festival (5 to 10 August 2026), a festival built around the East Clare style of playing - a distinct, unhurried regional tradition associated with the great fiddler Martin Hayes among others. The week’s programme includes workshops, céilís, singing sessions, and evening concerts, so the Monday lunchtime Riches of Clare event draws an audience that has been marinating in trad all week. That creates a particular kind of listening room. Arrive a little early; the hall fills quickly on the final day.

Getting there

Feakle is in east Clare, roughly 30km north-east of Ennis on the R352. The drive from Ennis takes about 35 minutes through open farmland and low hills. There is no regular bus service to Feakle, so a car or a taxi from Ennis is the practical option. Parking in the village is limited but manageable - the community hall sits in the centre of the village and there is roadside space nearby. If you are staying in Killaloe, Scariff, or Mountshannon for the festival week, Feakle is a short drive from any of them.

While you’re in Feakle

Feakle is a small village but it carries real musical weight - its name is synonymous with east Clare trad and the whole week of the festival changes its pace completely. There is more to see in Feakle and across Co. Clare.
